Not sure what to call them. Cake Truffles sound a bit more refined, while cake balls, to me, are more fitting. Not to mention I like the way the ll's roll off the tongue in the end.
One of dh's coworkers orders from me quite regularly, and he's a HUGE red velvet cake and cake balls fan, so why not have both.
I made red velvet cake balls and dipped them in white chocolate. He requested two orders and one order yields approximately 60 pieces. They're so fun to make and the sea of balls is divine.
