2009 - Year in Review

2009 was a great year for me and caking. I made my 1st wedding cake, had a plethora of cake ball orders and got to try out a few new techniques. My activity has been slow lately, which has been a nice break, but I'm SO ready to gear up and dig into some fondant soon!
2010 looks equally busy and at this point includes two weddings and a minimum of five birthdays. I'll throw some cupcakes in there for good measure for dh to take to work, because although tedious, cupcake toppers are fun and cute!

January

My first cake of 2009! Hand-drawn and painted Phoenix Suns logo.

February

Cars cake for my daughter's best bud.

March

My 1st wedding cake.
Can't wait to make Dane & Becca's anniversary cake! Red velvet, of course.

April

The 2nd Dora cake I've made.

Asian-themed wedding shower.

The fortune cookie cupcake toppers were my favorite!

This is the 2nd SAAC cake I've made for Arizona State.
I LOVE the woodgrain appearance!
Magic made with Americolor airbrush color and a pastry brush.

June
Simple birthday cake for a special friend.

Pooh and friends birthday cake. Similar design to the Dora cake.

July

Gotta bring something to the BBQ!

August

Go Yankees! Early birthday celebration for my dad's 60th...
*shakes fist at faulty airbrush for dying on my before I could finish the bill*

...and my grandmother's 80th.

September
Avery's 3rd birthday cake! Learned a lot on this one, especially what I'd do to make it AWESOME!
November

A cake for the twins! Cars & Tinkerbell

December

No cakes this month, but more cake balls than you can imagine! And in festive and seasonal flavors and colors. Wish I had more pics of these!

Happy New Year!

Cheers to a great 2010!

I just started following your blog and really enjoy it. You are very talented. I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of a good icing recipe to ice/decorate cookies with.
