A cake I enjoyed making, for the most part. If not for the toddler who woke at 12:30 a.m. (while I was caking) and decided to stay awake until 4:00 a.m., this would have been a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
But this was still a fun cake! It was made for dh's, coworker's, daughter's 7th birthday party. Confusing enough for you? It was also my 2nd paid cake.
They'd requested a cake large enough to serve 20-25 people, but this cake could have easily served 55-60. It was HUGE! 4 inches tall and about 16 inches long. I really wanted to nail this cake, mainly because good quality equals more interest and referrals. I think I did.
The lettering was the biggest pain in the ass! I need more practice using my new Tappits cutters and allow myself plenty of time to work with them (rather than right before the cake was picked up). Oh, and I hate his hands, but overall, I'm VERY pleased.
Details: Vanilla cake w/ buttercream frosting tinted yellow. Completely covered and decorated with mmf.

You did an excellent job. I wouldn't of even paid attention to his hand if you didn't point it out.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! The cakes you've made look fantastic! Definitely adding you to my blogroll!
